Forward Crystal Dunn The 17-year-old Rockville Centre resident competes for the United States Under 18 National Team as a left defender, for perennial power South Side High School as a midfielder and forward plus for club team Albertson Fury '91 as a forward. Already committed to the University of North Carolina, she could play for the current NCAA champion Tar Heels in the midfield. "Crystal is simply one of the best players around. An amazing physical specimen who oozes skill and technical ability. She is a terrific all-round player with a thirst to win," commented Long Island Fury Director of Football Paul Riley. "We are very excited to have her in the squad and I believe she could be a difference-maker for the Long Island Fury this year." When asked what her best moment ever on a soccer field was, Dunn said that she had to mention two. "The first is representing the US in the first Under 17 World Cup, in New Zealand. The second one is during the World Cup qualifier, I scored the winning goal in stoppage time, the 92nd minute, in a 1-0 win over Mexico during the Under 17 World Cup Qualifier in Trinidad in 2008, which qualified the US team for that World Cup."
