![]() Midfielder Kelly Henderson Just like Eli, Peyton and "Air" Jordan, Kelly is a playoff MVP as her solid play led the Fury to the WPSL national championship in 2006. At the age of 17, she scored two goals and set up teammates in playing against much older opponents. In both 2008 and 2009, Kelly was named to the All-East Conference Team. Now a senior at Boston College, Kelly was named All-American, All-State, All-Long Island and All-County as a senior at Baldwin High School. She was a member of the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program team for five years and has worn the red, white and blue of the U.S. Under-20 National Team, playing in four tournaments for the United States last year. Academically, Kelly was not too shabby either as she graduated in the top five percent of her class, was a National Honor Society and Foreign Language Society member plus played violin in the Chamber Orchestra. At BC, Henderson was selected to the 2008 Soccer Buzz All-Northeast Regional First Team and NEWISA (New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association) Second Team. In 2006, she was voted to the NEWISA All-Region second-team, Soccer Buzz Northeast Regional All-Freshmen Team and was a fourth team Soccer Buzz All-American selection. "Kelly has been one of the backbones of this young franchise and at the young age of 20 has taken a major leadership role. She is very dedicated and she embraces everything expected of a Fury player," commented Fury head coach Paul Riley. "Kelly has an unbelievable engine and is a physical specimen with a great mindset for the game. She is tactically way ahead of her years and is a superb all-around player. She can mark, defend, attack, take on players, is great in the air and a brilliant leader both on and off the field."
