![]() Defender Krystina Iordanou "Krystina will have the opportunity to grow as a player along side some of the best players in the country," commented Fury head coach Michael Demakis. "With her size, ability to win balls in the air, speed, and foot skills, Krystina will continue to grow and mature into an all-around dominating defender. We look forward to seeing how great she will eventually turn out to be." Krystina plays soccer for the Albertson Elite Fury, the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program and the Friends Academy Girls Varsity Team. Before studying at Friends Academy, she attended Locust Valley High School. She describes her greatest moment ever on a soccer field was at the Columbia Tournament in Maryland, when she scored the tying goal and also on the fifth penalty kick in a shootout to win the semifinal game for Albertson. Krystina's awards include being named Most Valuable Player in the 8th Grade, receiving First Honors throughout middle school and being selected as the recipient of the Robert Hodson Award for Leadership. "I have travelled quite a lot throughout Europe," Krystina said. "I spend some of my time in Cyprus, which is an occupied nation. This has taught me how grateful I should be to live in America as well as helping me understand other cultures."
