Midfielder Klara Jenkins

The Manhattanite plays for Albertson Fury '91 of the Long Island Junior Soccer League as well as the Trinity School Tiger varsity soccer and basketball teams. She captains both teams at Trinity and in hoops, Jenkins is a point guard.

"Klara has a great mind for the game," commented Long Island Fury Director of Football Paul Riley. "She understands tactics and reads the game extremely well. Can control the tempo of any game and her technical ability sets her apart from the crowd."

Jenkins won four State Cups with Albertson Fury '90, was elected to Ivy League soccer and basketball plus received the Headmaster's Cup. She has already committed to playing college soccer for the Colgate Red Raiders in the fall of 2010.

She says her best moment on a soccer field was scoring a goal against rival Montclair Aristocrats from New Jersey in the 2008 Regional semifinals with Albertson Fury '90. She is a big fan of European soccer.

"I am half German and never forget the incredible atmosphere of watching a Bundesliga matches in Cologne with 1.FC Koeln and Gelsenkirchen with Schalke 04," Jenkins commented. "The stadium was a wave of flags with fans singing and celebrating, the performance on the pitch inspiring. Fussball in Germany is more important than football, baseball and basketball combined in the United States."

"I watch a lot of the Bundesliga and English Premier League on Fox Soccer Channel and get motivated to try some of their moves and footwork," Jenkins concluded.
