Quinn
Midfielder Lorraine Quinn

The forward/midfielder scored four goals and had two assists for the Fury in 2006 on the way to being selected to the All-WPSL Tournament Team in leading Long Island to the national championship, which she describes as her best moment ever on a soccer field. She added two goals in 2007 and one goal in 2008. She did not play for the Fury in 2009 but returned in 2010with three goals and one assist. Her piercing dribbles have become a trademark of the Fury offense since the team's inception.

Inyernationally, Quinn helped lead the Under-23s to the Nordic Cup championship in 2008.

"Lorraine is an unbelievable player with great technique and brilliant skills. She is a special player with a zest for taking players on and loves the one-on-one duels," commented Long Island Fury head coach Paul Riley. "One of the best players ever to come out of Long Island."

The 24-year-old Farmingdale resident spent her youth soccer career playing for the New York Hota T-Birds, BW Gottschee and the HBC Fury. With HBC, she won six State Cup titles and three Regional championships on a squad that was ranked number one in the nation.

Quinn is the only five-year varsity starter that Farmingdale High School ever had and finished her high school career with school records in goals (38) and assists (65). Some of her awards include 2002 Gatorade New York State Player of the Year, two-time Parade All-American, two-time NSCAA All-America and once EA Sports High School All-American. Quinn was also four-time All-State, four-time All-County and four-time high school MVP.

At Duke University, the awards continued as she made the All-Atlantic Coast Conference Freshman Team, starting all 18 games as a freshman. She was selected 2008 All-ACC (second team) and was on the Hermann Trophy Watch List. September 23, 2008 was a good week for her as she was honored as Soccer America Women's Player of the Week and the ACC Player of the Week for her three goals against Georgia in a 3-0 victory. Over her career at Duke, Quinn played in 91 matches, while posting 13 goals, 19 assists and 45 points. Academically, she made the Dean's List in the spring of 2008 and was selected to the All-ACC Honor Roll in both 2007 and 2008. Her taste buds are happier that she is back in Farmingdale now as she "lives for New York pizza."
