Forward Rosie DiMartinoThe family tradition continues as the fourth and youngest DiMartino girl--Jaclyn, nicknamed Rosie--has joined the Long Island Fury of the Women's Premier Soccer League. At 15 years old, Rosie scored one goal for the Fury during 2010. "Jaclyn Rose DiMartino joins the Long Island Fury for the first time in her young talented soccer career. Rosie, as she is known, will bring a tremendous amount of soccer knowledge, skill and field awareness to the Long Island Fury for the upcoming season," commented Fury head coach Michael Demakis. "She has the ability and vision to create for others and is considered a 'sniper' around the penalty box, willing to rip a shot anytime with either foot. She's an extremely hard worker and will continue to learn and grow as her soccer career continues to moves forward." Rosie's oldest sisters--Tina and Gina--used their outstanding play for the Fury to help launch professional careers in Women's Professional Soccer. Tina plays in the midfield for St. Louis Athletica while Gina is a forward for the Boston Breakers. Rosie's other sister, Vicki, was the leading goal scorer for the Fury in 2009, scoring 14 goals and providing five assists in 14 games. All four sisters from Massapequa Park have played in the United States National Team program. This is believed to be the first time in world soccer history that four siblings have played for their country. Besides playing offensive midfielder for the Under-15 National Team, Rosie plays for the Region 1 Team, the Albertson Elite Fury of the Long Island Junior Soccer League and Massapequa High School, where she was named All-County.
