![]() Midfielder/Forward Karin Simonian Karin will be all of 15 years old and again playing against opponents a decade older for the 2008 WPSL season. When asked to describe her best moment on a soccer field, Karin stated, "Playing with the Long Island Fury last year. It was so exciting playing with some great players like Kelly Henderson, Lorraine Quinn plus Christina and Gina DiMartino. Then, after I scored in one of the home games, some kids came up to me and asked for my autograph. I thought that was pretty cool!" The Westbury resident studies at W.T. Clarke High School and plays on Long Island Junior Soccer League teams Albertson Fury 89, Albertson Fury Premier 92 plus the Region 1 (Northeast United States) team. "Karin has a unique quality--she can change the game at any time. Fantastic shot with a great goal sense makes her prolific around the box," Long Island Fury coach Paul Riley commented. "She is intelligent, crafty and causes unbelievable problems for opposing defences. A big-time player with a big-time future." Karin has played four years for the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program team and participated in the 2007 National Team Camp. The sky is the limit for Karin, who scored two goals for the Fury as a 14-year-old last year and was named All-County as a High School Freshman.
