The 16-year-old Rockville Centre resident grew up on Staten Island where she was the leading scorer among high school teams in that borough.

Alaina helped Curtis High School advance to the New York City PSAL soccer
semifinals for the first time in the school history. In both her Freshman and Sophomore years, she was a Staten Island Advance All-County Soccer selection.

Alaina participated in the July 2006 Annual NIKE Premier Soccer Camp, finishing first among 44 top soccer athletes her age throughout the United States in the SPARQ fitness test--Speed, Power, Agility, Rate and Quickness.

Moving to Long Island, she was the leading scorer in goals and points for South Side High School Lady Cyclones, which won the State Class A Championship. She received the Best Offensive Player Award as well as All Class A, All-Long Island and All-State.

Alaina is in the International Baccauleaurte Honor Program at South Side. She was recently inducted into the National Honor Society as well as the French National Honor Society.

Beyar has also played for the United States Youth National Teams.

In the Long Island Junior Soccer League, she started with the Long Beach Stars, competing with them for four years, and has played for the Albertson Fury '89 for the past four years. Her sisters, 13-year-old Julie and 15-year-old Carly, also compete with the Albertson Fury teams.

Paul Riley, her coach with the Long Island Fury and Albertson Fury, commented, "Alaina can change a game in an instant. Electric quick! Loves scoring goals and is very difficult to contain. First-class training habits and a true striker's mentality. Knows when and how to run big time!"

So it's not too surprising then that Beyar's favorite pro soccer team is the same as her coach's, Liverpool Football Club. Or that the Long Island Fury wears Liverpool red in their uniforms.
