Midfielder Kelly Henderson
![]() Just like Tom Brady and Michael Jordan, Henderson is a playoff MVP as her solid play led the Fury to the WPSL national championship last summer. At the age of 17, she scored two goals from her midfield position and set up teammates in playing against much older opponents. Now studying at Boston College, she was named All-American, All-State, All-Long Island and All-County as a senior at Baldwin High School. She was a member of the Eastern New York Olympic Development Program team for five years and is currently a member of the U.S. Under-20 National Team. Academically, Henderson was not too shabby either as she graduated in the top five percent of her class, was a National Honor Society and Foreign Language Society member plus played violin in the Chamber Orchestra. "Kelly has an unbelievable engine and is a physical specimen with a great mindset for the game," commented Fury head coach Paul Riley. "She is tactically way ahead of her years and is a superb all-around player. She can mark, defend, attack, take on players, is great in the air and a brilliant leader both on and off the field." |
