Long Island Fury and Boston Aztecs Play to Scoreless Tie

(June 18, 2006, Hempstead, NY)-The Long Island Fury tied the Boston Aztecs, 0-0 tonight at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead. The Fury are now 3-0-1 and Boston is now 2-0-2.

Long Island has never surrendered a goal in its brief four-game, 360-minute history. Fury goalkeeper Becky Wachsberger of East Meadow made one save while her counterpart in the Boston goal, Brett Moron, had four saves.

The Fury dominated the match and had a 9-0 advantage in corner kicks but could not score.

"I was obviously very disappointed with our performance tonight, our worst performance of the season. We had no energy in the first half but the second half was a little better," commented Fury coach Paul Riley.

"I thought that midfielder Kelly Henderson plus Dolores Deasley, who just got off a plane from Europe today, had strong games," coach Riley continued.

The Fury's next game is against these same Aztecs at Salem State College north of Boston on Saturday night, June 24.
