Fury Shutout the Central Delaware Future, 6-0

June 9, 2007-The Women's Premier Soccer League national champions, the Long Island Fury, shut out the Central Delaware Future, 6-0, in Dover, Delaware tonight.

The Fury improved to 3-1-0 while the Delawarians dropped to 0-3-1.

Jasmyne Spencer scored two goals, including the first tally of the match in the 12th minute. Emily Sammis of Huntington scored two goals while Cody Newman of Bellerose and Lorraine Quinn of Farmingdale scored one goal each.

Goalkeeper Becky Wachsberger of East Meadow recorded the shutout with three saves.

Making her debut for the Fury tonight was 15-year-old midfielder Madison Haller. The squad had a very young midfield as Enma Mullo, 16, also was on the field tonight.

Long Island's next home match will be Friday night, June 15 at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Uniondale. The Fury take on SoccerPlus Connecticut Reds at 5:30 pm while their men's team, the Long Island Academy, host the Boston Aztecs at 7:45 pm.
