"Seven Goal" Emily Sammis is back playing with the national champions this season.
In her first-ever appearance in the red, white and navy blue Fury uniform on Practice does not make perfect in Emily's case as, having just come back from the University of Delaware to her Huntington home, she had no time to train with the Fury. But scored the only goal of the game on May 19 in the 1-0 season opening win over the Massachusetts Stingers at Mitchel Athletic With the Fury, the 20-year-old plays forward. As a senior this fall at the University of Delaware, she expects to play in midfield again for the Fightin' Blue Hens. "Emily is a tremendous one-on-one-player and causes tons of problems for opposing defenses," commented Fury head coach Paul Riley. "She has electric speed, bags of skill, relishes one-on-one battles and loves scoring goals." |
