"Becky is an excellent goalkeeper with great agility, soft hands and superb reflexes. She is a well-rounded keeper with outstanding training habits and communication skills second to none," commented Fury head coach Paul Riley.
Wachsberger had a phenomenal 2006, allowing just four goals in 1,010 minutes
of action for an amazing 0.19 goals against average. She led a Fury defensive corps which did not concede a goal in Long Island's first 642 minutes of play last year or in the last 355 minutes of action, on the road to the national title.
It was her second consecutive national women's title as Wachsberger won the W-League championship with the New Jersey Wildcats in 2005.
Wachsberger attended East Meadow High School and was a 2000 High School All-American. She spent her formative years in the Long Island Junior Soccer League keeping the ball out of the net for the Oceanside Express.
It was then on to Hofstra University and the East Meadow resident excelled there as well, becoming All-Conference in the Colonial Athletic Association and making the All-Tournament Team in leading the Pride to the NCAA playoffs for the first time ever.
