Assistant Coach Michael Demakis "Mike is a first-rate coach with a vast array of knowledge. He is very detailed and finds players' weaknesses and improves them. He has been terrific working with the Long Island Fury since 2006," commented Coach Riley. Mike has been the President/CEO of FC Elite since 2000, applying technical expertise on tactical and technical soccer training for teams and individual players. He also served as the assistant women's soccer coach for Molloy College from 2004 to 2007 plus the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the New York Islanders and New York Dragons from 2002 to 2004. Mike's résumé also includes being the assistant coach/soccer trainer and conditioning coach of the W-League's New York Magic and assistant women's soccer coach for Iona College. During the 1990s, Mike was the head strength and conditioning coach for the University of Kentucky athletic teams, overseeing the conditioning of the Wildcats, and he was the assistant strength and conditioning coach for the New York Jets. He holds a NSCAA National Diploma, NSCAA Advanced National Diploma and NSCAA Premier Diploma in soccer coaching.
